Ralf J. Leiteritz, PhD

Full Professor, Universidad del Rosario

Ralf J. Leiteritz holds a PhD in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MA in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and a degree in Political Science from the University of Potsdam (Germany). He is currently Full Professor at the School of International, Political and Urban Studies at Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá, where he has directed both the Master’s and Doctoral programmes.

With an extensive academic and global consulting career, he has been a visiting researcher at Yonsei University (Seoul) as a Korea Foundation fellow, as well as at the University of Leipzig (Germany) and Universidad de los Andes. In the multilateral sphere, he has worked as a long-term consultant for the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and as a research associate at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London. Between 2013 and 2018 he served as editor-in-chief of Desafíos.

His research focuses on International Political Economy, economic development, global capital flows, trade relations with the Asia-Pacific, and the role of the private sector in armed conflict settings.
