Alejandro Peláez Rodríguez
Ambassador of Colombia to South Korea (2023–2025)
Alejandro Peláez Rodríguez holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad de los Andes, an Executive MBA from IESE Business School and a specialisation in Strategic Marketing from CESA. With more than 25 years of international experience, he specialises in economic diplomacy, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) attraction, international trade and business development across Latin America, Asia and South Asia.
He served as Ambassador of Colombia to South Korea between July 2023 and October 2025, leading initiatives in international cooperation, science and technology, foreign investment attraction and cultural diplomacy. In 2024 he was recognised by the Korea Ambassador Culture Friendship Association as the best ambassador among the country’s 115 diplomatic missions. In Colombia he was new business manager at Zonamerica Colombia and, for 14 years, built his commercial diplomacy career at ProColombia as director of the trade offices in India and Brazil.
